At the top of Monarch Pass the weather can be calm and beautiful, windy and wicked, and the full range of everything in between – all in one day. In general, summers are cool, dry and breezy while the winters are snowy and especially windy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 9°F to 66°F and is rarely below -4°F or above 73°F.
The warm season lasts from about early June to mid-September, with an average daily high temperature above 58°F. The hottest month of the year is July, with an average high of 66°F and low of 47°F.
The cold season lasts from about mid-November to mid-March, with an average daily high temperature below 33°F. The coldest month of the year is January, with an average low of 10°F and high of 26°F. The average annual snowfall in the winter months is over 350″.
